Emerging from beneath its thick, coffee-coloured foam, you can detect aromas of banana and chocolate, as well as hints of herbs (vanilla, anise), but without the bitter aftertaste of roasted malt. The palate delights in impressions of milk chocolate and light espresso, followed by the sweet fruitiness of the alcohol, all finally veiled by bitter yet elegant hop notes. The finish offers a flavour reminiscent of lightly bitter chicory. The monks donate the proceeds from this beer to social work and charity.
