The Trappist Abbey of Notre Dame de Saint-Remy, founded in 1230. Dominant are latte coffee and powerful chocolate aromas. The alcoholic esters are wrapped in notes of autumn wood, citrus tones (orange, lemon), and freshly baked biscuits.
The initial taste is sweet and indulgent—beer and chocolate captured in one glass, supported by a backbone of bitter malt. The alcohol gently warms the throat, and on the finish you can detect hints of clove, citrus, orange, and mocha.
